Complex fluids: viscoelastic response to thermal fluctuations and stability of active suspensions
In recent years, the mechanical properties of complex fluids (biological fluids, polymer solutions, particle suspensions) have received much attention and led to many analytical and modeling problems. In this talk, I consider two applications: the viscoelastic response of two thermally fluctuating beads and the stability of active rod-like suspensions. I will present how existing models are applied to those examples and how new results are derived.
