The fluid dynamics of quantum vortices
  

  The dynamics of superfluids is approximately described by the nonlinear Schrodinger equation, and these equations admit point vortex solutions in two dimensions. This leads to a peculiar analogy between quantum vortices and the point vortices of classical fluid dynamics. This is explored in this talk using some theory and numerical simulations of quantum vortices in a tea cup.
