Everywhere I go I see teachers driving Ferraris, research scientists drinking champagne. - Krusty The Clown

Brief Biography

I grew up in a small town called Benicia in the north-east part of the San Francisco Bay Area. It was the capital of California for a brief stint, which is a really big deal. I swam competitively for 14 years and played some water polo in high school. I attended UCLA for undergraduate studies in applied mathematics and a masters in mathematics. To the right is what I looked like in May of 2012.

Graduate Student Activities

I help organize the Student Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing (NASC) Seminar. The goal of the seminar is to provide a place for graduate students interested in NASC to hear about each other's research and practice presenting material in front of an audience. If you are interested feel free to email me.

For the 2011-2012 academic year I was in charge of corralling people for the weekly Courant grad student happy hour. I still attend regularly and can provide details to those who are interested. I've also participated on the Courant intramural volleyball teams (which are coed or single sex, depending on the season) and can direct you to the right people if you're interested in joining one of the teams.

Other Interests

While I no longer swim competitively, I do enjoy swimming laps for exercise and have begun participating in open water swimming events. I participated in the Brooklyn Bridge swim in the summer of 2011 and the Governor's Island swim in 2013.
