Carlos Borges

Short Bio

I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University, working with Professor Leslie Greengard.  I obtained my Ph.D. in Mathematics at Worcester Polytechnic Institute on February 14^th 2013, with Professor Marcus Sarkis as my PhD adviser.

I received my Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Instituto Militar de Engenharia in 2002 and my Master's degree in Mathematics from Instituto de Matemática Pura e Aplicada in 2007.

My current research centers on fast numerical methods for direct and inverse scattering problems. At the moment, I am working on fast solvers for the direct electromagnetic scattering problem. 

I recently moved to UT Austin to work at the Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences. This is my new website.
