Vitae
I received my B.S. degree in Mathematics from
POSTECH (Pohang University of Science and Technology), Pohang, Republic of Korea, in 1997
and M.S., and Ph. D. degrees in Applied Mathematics from
KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), Daejeon, Republic of Korea, in 1999 and 2004,
respectively.
My thesis advisor was professor Chang-Ock Lee
and the title is "Preconditioners for FETI-DP formulations with
mortar methods."
This study is applied to elliptic problems with highly discontinuous coefficients in both two and three spatial dimensions, and the Stokes problem in two dimensions.
From March 2004 to August 2004, I was a post doctoral fellow at Division of Applied Mathematics in KAIST. Currently, I'm a postdoc in
the Courant Institute and working with professor
Olof B. Widlund.
Research Interest
My research interests include domain decomposition methods, scientific computing, and its application on computational fluid dynamics.
I'm currently working on the FETI-DP (Dual-Primal FETI) methods for elasticity problems with mortar discretizations
and the BDDC (Balancing Domain Decomposition with Constraints) methods for elliptic problems.
If you are more interested in my research, see my
research statement .
