• The FINAL exam will take place on Thursday, May 4, 8:00 - 9:50am, in WAVE 431.
  
• Textbook for the course: W. E. Boyce, R. C. DiPrima: Elementary Differential Equations and Boundary Value Problems, Eighth Edition, Wiley, 2004.
  The book is available at the NYU Bookstore but can also be ordered through Amazon.com or BARNES&NOBLE.
  
  Important: For most of the lecture the Sixth or Seventh Edition will suffice. However, homework assignments will be taken from the Eighth Edition.

Quizzes and midterm exams:

There will be three quizzes and one midterm exam. The first quiz will cover chapters 1 and 2 of the book, the second quiz chapter 3, the midterm exam covers chapters 6, and 7, and the third quiz covers chapters 8 and 9.


• The first Quiz is on Tuesday February 7 from 9:00 - 9:30am. The following material will be covered:
  - Sections 1.3, 2.1, 2.2, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6 from the book.
  - Complex numbers
  
• The second Quiz is on Tuesday March 7 from 9:00 - 9:30am. The following material will be covered:
  - Sections 3.1 - 3.9 from the book.
  - Complex numbers
  
• The midterm is on Tuesday April 11 from 9:00 - 10:45am. The exam will cover the following material:
  - Sections 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4,
  - Sections 7.1, 7.2, 7.3, 7.4, 7.5, 7.6, 7.8
  - Linear algebra: Finding eigenvalues, eigenvectors and generalized eigenvectors
  
• The third Quiz is on Thursday April 27 from 9:00 - 9:30am. The following material will be covered:
  - Sections 8.1, 8.2
  - Sections 9.1, 9.2, 9.3, 9.4, 9.5
  
  
• The final exam is on Thursday May 04, 8:00 - 9:50am, in WAVE 431. The following material will be covered:

  - Sections 7.1 - 7.6, 7.8
  - Sections 9.1 - 9.5
  You are allowed to bring one cheat sheet (1 page, letter style, both sides, hand-written)
